Astronomy Club of Southern Maryland
Introduction
The Astronomy Club of Southern Maryland is a group of residents of Calvert County and its neighboring areas with a common interest in amateur astronomy. The Club holds regular monthly meetings, and occasional group outings. Our meeting site is the Jefferson-Patterson Park & Museum near St. Leonard, Maryland, USA.
News & Updates
On Sunday, April 15, the Club participated in the annual Opening Day event at Jefferson-Patterson Park. Tom Dugan and Jim Gass staffed the club's table in the pavilion. A steady rain kept them from giving visitors a telescopic view of the Sun this year.

2007 Perseid Meteor Shower
Several club members made an overnight trip to Big Meadows, in Shenandoah National Park, on August 11th-12th for the Perseid meteor shower. The skies were very good that night. We viewed Perseids, sporadics, and stragglers from other meteor showers. Several friends, some members of the NOVAC, and various other visitors joined us near the parking area for the Meadows to watch this years shower.
